The Automotive Supply Industry is one of largest and most productive industrial sectors in the country and forms an essential part of the Austrian economy.
In concrete figures, Austria’s automotive suppliers generate a production value of EUR 24.4 billion and around EUR 7.38 billion in added value (reference year 2018 – projection). The numerous enterprises in the Automotive Supply Industry employ approximately 80,200 people all across Austria.
In addition to a high degree of networking and its resulting tremendous impetus (multiplier effects across companies), the Automotive Supply Industry is characterised, above all, by a heterogeneous structure. The enterprise spectrum ranges from companies in the Textile Industry to Metaltechnology Industries and the Electrical and Electronics Industries. Current structural changes reinforces this diversity even further. In the field of electric mobility, for example, start-ups and “established” tech companies supplement and alter the structure of the population.
